The Institute on Violence, Terrorism, and Security

Violence, terrorism, and security have long presented significant challenges for policy makers and researchers, but the threats associated with these issues have reached unprecedented levels of complexity and sophistication.

As a result, preventing, mitigating, and responding to these threats increasingly requires innovative and collaborative approaches. The goal of the Institute on Violence, Terrorism, and Security (IVTS) is to provide applied, policy-focused research to assist decision-makers in how to address these problems. IVTS works to identify points of convergence and facilitate multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary, cross-Canadian, and international research programs.
